POTD 11: Focus Question

How do I get my point and shoot camera to focus on the berries with the water droplets rather than the leaves in the foreground?

It depends on the features your point and shoot has. There should be a setting in your settings section that allows you do take priority shots. I would suggest taking another look through your manual on the settings and see if you can find it there. I hope this helps...and I still love your photograph too! xoxo
Love ya,

Thanks Kim for your help and comments. I'll have to dig out the manual. The Cannon SD300 doesn't have a "priority" setting but maybe some other setting that means the same thing. :D

Does it have a macro setting? That might do it. Otherwise, I zoom in with the focus square on the berries, push the button down half way to focus and then with the button still pressed down half way, you can move the camera to frame the shot the way you like. Clear as mud right?! Show us the end result and what works.

Erica! That's what I keep forgetting to do....push down halfway! I'll try that on my next days off and post the new photo ~ if it works. Thanks!

I was going to say the same thing, focus on the berries, push shutter halfway down so it sets the focus and then push again to take the shot. Great photo!
