Who Knew!

Who knew I could keep an African Violet alive for so long! When a scrapbooking friend gave me this wee plant with the beautiful violet flowers I wasn't so sure it would last very long in my care. But look at it! It looks great! And I've had it at least a couple of months :D If anyone has any hints or tips on how to properly care for an African Violet please leave a comment. Thanks!

Good for you! You must have a greener thumb than I do. My African Violet gift a few mths ago didn't survive the first month. So I definitely won't be giving advice LOL!

Lovely photo of a lovely plant. Of course you can keep an African Violet! I neglect mine to no end and they just keep blooming! I think the trick is to not overwater them, 'cause I routinely don't water mine until their leave are drooping.

Great photo. Whenever I have a plant of any kind, I water it whenever it's dry and otherwise leave it alone. Some survive, some don't. ;-)

I received one as a gift too and so far it's still alive. It's not near a window and I've only watered it once. Perhaps that's the trick. Yours is gorgeous, love the colour.

I rarely water my african violet either and it's been around for years. Sometimes it's in my kitchen window (direct morning sun) sometimes it's in my bathroom window (shade). Seems to be happy, although probably finally needs a bigger pot this year.
